This guide is for the Classic shards — SCDO Shard1 (Classic), SCDO Shard2 (Classic), SCDO Shard3 (Classic) and SCDO Shard4 (Classic) — SCDO’s own original core chain, running go-scdo (ZPoW). In practice it is mined mainly with GPUs, and CPUs are welcome too. Mining secures the network; block rewards are distributed automatically by the chain’s public, verifiable protocol rules and can be checked on this explorer.

Mining runs on a PC or server (Windows / Linux), not on a phone; the Mac app is a wallet. SCDO Shard1–4 (Classic) is SCDO’s own original core chain. In practice it is mined mainly with GPUs, and CPUs are welcome too. GPU miners use the SCDO Shard1 (Classic) mining pool run by the project: stratum+tcp://82.223.19.88:3341, username = your 1S01… address; GPU miner: zminer-gpu. For a CPU, the easiest way is the mining feature built into SCDO Wallet for Windows: download it from /downloads/wallet/ and click “Start mining”. This guide is the other CPU way, solo mining: you run your own full node, it syncs the chain of your shard, then mines, and the address you enter is set as the miner (coinbase) address of blocks your node mines. You can mine 1, 2, 3 or all 4 shards; all four together is recommended.
The Classic chain is a fork whose genesis is at about block 2.98 million, so a fresh node starts at around 2.98M and syncs forward from there; that is expected. A full node (all chains) needs about 118 GB of disk, and the first full sync from the fork genesis can take many hours.

Classic 鏈是一條分叉鏈，創世區塊高度約為 298 萬，因此新算力服務分支從約 2.98M 開始向後同步，屬正常現象。包含全部鏈的完整算力服務分支約需 118 GB 磁碟空間，從分叉創世區塊開始的首次完整同步可能需要數小時以上。

The prefix decides your shard (1S01 = SCDO Shard1 (Classic), 2S02 = SCDO Shard2 (Classic), ...). No address yet? Run client key --shard 1 and keep the private key safe.

Replace P2P_PRIVATE_KEY with the private key printed by client key --shard (use a separate key just for the node, not your wallet key).
