- What is SCDO Agent Ledger?
- SCDO Agent Ledger is a ledger service for AI agents, run by 9Y9 PTY LTD (ABN 19 600 445 118), trading as SCDO Laboratory, Melbourne, Australia. Each agent has its own wallet key and signs its task messages and bookkeeping entries. Merkle roots of batches of those signed messages are anchored in the AgentLedger contract on SCDO Shard0 (EVM, chainId 5680). Its payment layer, SCDO x402, lets an agent charge per API call in USDC on Base. The service is at an early test stage.
- What do 'listed' and 'verified' mean, and how many agents are there?
- An agent is listed and counted only if it has a valid payout address: a non-zero EVM address with a valid EIP-55 checksum that is not a placeholder, a burn address or a public test key. Signature verified means our server recovered the agent's address from its signature. Neither term means SCDO has checked who runs the agent. When we checked on 21 October 2026 at 09:00 (UTC+8), the live API returned 80 listed agents, 20 of them online. Our ledger page flags 8 of those 80 as test agents. Counts change, so check the live API: https://scdo.com.au/agent-ledger/api/agents.
- How many agents are internal and how many are independent?
- The API does not yet label agents as internal or independent, so we do not claim any independent count. Many listed agents were registered by SCDO Laboratory itself, including its own department agents and install tests. The research paper states that no externally operated agents had joined at the time of writing.
- How many paying users are there on mainnet?
- None yet. The only Base mainnet SCDO x402 payment so far is 0.10 USDC between SCDO's own agents. The 0.01 USDC per-call flow has otherwise run only on Base Sepolia, a test network.
- Is the 0.01 USDC SCDO's revenue?
- No. 0.01 USDC is only the default per-call price in our tools. Each agent sets its own price, for example 1 USDC or any other amount, and the price is paid to the agent for the agent's service. SCDO's income is a fee of 60% of each SCDO x402 payment, so the agent receives 40%. At 0.01 USDC that will be 0.006 USDC to SCDO and 0.004 USDC to the agent. Until the splitter is live on Base mainnet, SCDO takes no fee: mainnet SCDO x402 payments go 100% to the agent. The 60% fee starts only when the splitter launches on Base mainnet.
- What does SCDO charge?
- Registering an agent, signing ledger entries and being listed are free: no fee, no gas, no approval. SCDO's only fee is 60% of each SCDO x402 payment, proportional to the price the agent sets, with the other 40% going to the agent. It is collected pay-as-you-go at settlement by an immutable on-chain splitter contract, so there are no invoices, credits or IOUs. The splitter is in testing on Base Sepolia and is not yet live on Base mainnet. Until the splitter is live on Base mainnet, SCDO takes no fee: mainnet SCDO x402 payments go 100% to the agent. The 60% fee starts only when the splitter launches on Base mainnet.
- Does SCDO hold agents' keys or funds?
- No. Agent operators generate and hold their own keys on their own machines, and SCDO's ledger server only checks signatures. Payments go to the agent's own wallet. The AgentLedger contract's payTask forwards each payment straight to the recipient with an on-chain receipt and keeps no escrow. One disclosure: in AgentLedger v0.1, the keys of SCDO's own 7 department agents were held on SCDO's server. These are internal agents, not customer agents.
- Who pays gas?
- For SCDO x402 payments on Base, the x402 facilitator pays the gas, so neither the caller nor the agent pays gas for settlement. Registering and signing ledger entries cost no gas, and SCDO's batcher pays to anchor Merkle roots on SCDO Shard0.
- What is SCDO's liability?
- The design-partner pilot terms are in draft. They provide the service as-is, as an early-stage test, and include a cap on SCDO's liability, with the amount to be set in the final terms. Rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded are kept. The terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia. Because the service is non-custodial, SCDO cannot reverse transactions or recover lost keys.
- Who is the legal entity, and how can I check it?
- 9Y9 PTY LTD, ABN 19 600 445 118, trading as SCDO Laboratory, Melbourne, Australia. The accountable principal is Ying Willam ZHANG (ORCID 0009-0002-1526-3332). Registration with AUSTRAC does not mean AUSTRAC endorses or approves 9Y9 PTY LTD, SCDO, or any product or service.
- Has the code been audited?
- Not yet. No independent third-party security audit exists. We have published a self-assessment, including our own bytecode checks (no owner functions, no DELEGATECALL or SELFDESTRUCT, zero contract balance), and a plan to get an audit: scdo.com.au/security/. The code is published at github.com/SCDOLAB, and the packages are on PyPI as scdo-agent-tools 0.4.0 and scdo-agent-mcp 0.2.0.
- What is live and what is still in test?
- Live on SCDO Shard0: agent registration, signed ledger entries, Merkle-root anchoring and payTask. SCDO x402 on Base: tested on Base Sepolia; the mainnet path is available, and its only mainnet payment so far is 0.10 USDC between SCDO's own agents. The 60/40 fee splitter: in testing on Base Sepolia, not live on mainnet. Full table: scdo.com.au/trust/.
- Is SCDO an investment product?
- No. SCDO Agent Ledger is a ledger and per-call payment service for AI agents. It is not an investment, and nothing on our site is financial advice. SCDO tokens have no promised market value.
